16th & 17th July 2011

9 bands confirmed for our Acoustic Stage....

Saturday Exit State, Gone Til Winter, Awake By Design,
Steel Threads, John Doyle.

Sunday Falling Red, Nigel Roberts (Marseille), Inferno, Outfoxed.

We're very happy to announce the above 9 bands playing our acoustic stage across the 2 days at SOS Festival! After the success of introducing an acoustic stage last year we carry on this great idea which proved to be a very welcome contrast in-between the main stage bands.

Exit State - fresh from their outstanding performances at Hard Rock Hell Ibiza Road Trip, Exit State are already playing Sunday on main stage but have agreed to play the acoustic stage on Saturday too. They're looking forward to promoting some songs from their upcoming 2nd album "Black Veins" which is set for release on 5th September. Falling Red - following their stunning performance at SOS last year as main support to Black Spiders, Falling Red, who have subsequently supported Sebastian Bach & co-headlined a full UK tour with Scandinavia's Star*Rats, have agreed to return for a special slot heading up our acoustic stage for Sunday. They will no doubt be promoting their recent spectacular EP release "Hasta La Victoria Siempre" & these songs will translate to the acoustic scenario with ease. Gone Til Winter - renowned for powerful & inspiring female-fronted melodic metal, we're very happy to welcome Gone Til Winter to our acoustic stage on Saturday. Gone Til Winter : Facebook Profile . Meanwhile, here's the video for their 2009 release "Hear Me"....

Nigel Roberts is frontman of  British rockers Marseille, the brainchild of Neil Buchanan, of TV's Art Attack. Nigel has agreed to play an acoustic set for us, along with friends & guests. Marseille Website

Awake By Design may be as yet little known to Manchester audiences but in their native Midlands have already made a significant mark & have in fact played some serious support slots with the likes of Apocalyptica, Anathema, Diamond Head, Sonata Arctica & Pain Of Salvation. We're delighted they've chosen to take the opportunity to come to SOS Festival to promote their upcoming acoustic EP. Awake By Design Facebook Profile

Inferno are already opening up main stage for us on Saturday & also play our acoustic stage on Sunday. These North Wales lads put every bit of heart & soul into their electric set so we can't wait to hear that translated into the acoustic situation. Welcome guys! Inferno Website

Steel Threads is a new band featuring Neil Wardleworth, formerly of bands Crosswire & The Jokers. Welcome Neil & friends, really looking forward to their acoustic set.

Outfoxed are well known in the Manchester area, playing the circuit in the area & featuring also members of local metal band Collibus. Fronted by Gemma Fox, Outfoxed will be entertaining us on Sunday with their acoustic set at SOS.

John Doyle is another well-known artist from the Manchester area, originally as frontman of rock/blues band All 3 Cylinders but also as a very experienced & accomplished guitar tutor & engineer. We're delighted John has agreed to play an acoustic set for us at SOS on Saturday.
