Band History

In February 2002 guitar player Damma and bass player Ola teamed up with drummer Hank & founded what was to become a band called Distorted Nation. Soon they were joined by singer Roffe. Other members came and went but Damma, Hank and Roffe stayed put, forming the core of Distorted Nation. Ola left in 2003 joining the band Amp Geezer. Distorted Nation matured and developed quickly into band with a distinct sound and a treasure of heavy songs. The band released three demos, Distorted Nation, Watch Your Back and Urban War, all receiving great reviews. In the end of 2003 Damma, Hank and Roffe felt an urge to play harder, heavier and more aggressive music and founded a side project. This side project turned out to be more than just that and after a few months it had progressed to be their main concern. Finally in March 2004 Distorted Nation met it’s destiny. Another nation arose where the old one had fallen, being meaner, harder, heavier and angrier….a brand new nation, the Core Of Nation. In the spring of 2005 Rickard join the band,  playing the bass, Oscar joined as Lead Guitarist, but left the band due to personal commitments in April 2008. 

Present day-to-the future

Core of Nation is based in Sweden although January/February 2008 marks their debut visit to the UK. Their music carries a heavy Black Sabbath influence & so the appeal is to classic metal audiences as well as the more modern audiences who continued to be inspired by their metal godfathers. A 6 track demo entitled “Behind Enemy Lines” is available direct from the band & more tracks are ready. The aim for Core Of Nation is to establish an early foothold in the UK then work to enhance the band’s reputation, developing its’ live work to promote the release of a debut official album release with Rocksector Records.
