Rocksector are delighted to welcome Hanging Doll to the label & very much look forward to the release of the band's next album "The Sacred & Profane". Due out 30th April, the album is follow-up to 2008's "Reason & Madness" which prompted Metal Hammer to comment "If Evanescence were a real band they would sound like Hanging Doll".

The band's dark & intense orchestral metal is infused with brooding detuned guitar riffs, fronted by luscious vocals, underpinned by an epic, multi-textured sound.

Formed in Walsall, England in 2002 the band set out to form a dramatic & melodic metal band, with a name inspired by the doll hanging from the ceiling in one room featured in the computer game Silent Hill. The game also inspired the mood & feel of the band's music. Local gigs were played, an early fanbase emerging & a demo was recorded prompting this comment from Ultimate Metal.. "Possibly the best release by an unsigned band in the past 10 years, if this band isn't snapped up by a canny record label the world will have truly gone mad". Sadly, tragedy was to intervene when, in 2004, one of the founder members Rachel Lilley committed suicide, leaving the band crippled by grief. By 2007 the band still hadn't really recovered from the loss & came close to disintegration.

Somehow, the remaining members Daniel Leddy, Alex Cooper & Kev Wilson found the courage to continue, recruiting vocalist Sally Holliday who slotted in perfectly with her operatic, classically-influenced style & the band made a debut album "What Lies In Truth" in 2007. A further album "Reason & Madness" was released in 2008.

After 2008 Hanging Doll has played a succession of successful gigs, including various places at festivals at home & abroad, subsequently taking time off especially during 2011 to focus on writing & recording a powerful new record. "The Sacred & Profane" is exactly that record. Mark Appleton of Rocksector comments "I first saw Hanging Doll at the Rock Of Ages Festival in Birmingham in 2008 & knew straight away that was a band that given the opportunity I'd like to work with. The textures & atmospheres in the music really appeal, combined with superb musicianship & songs dripping with emotion. When a year or two later, Alex Cooper approached me at Bloodstock Festival with a view to becoming involved with the band's next release my decision was, frankly, a no-brainer"

"The Sacred & Profane" is to be released on 30th April 2012, with the track listing as follows....
1. Cradle To The Grave 2. Carnival Of Sin 3. Dark Narcissus (The Forest) 4. Lacrimosa 5. Only In My Reveries 6. Immortal Beloved 7. Tincture 8. The Sacred & Profane 9. Flames Of Woe 10. The Final Descent 11. Bound In Servitude 12. The Inauspicious Host 13. A Question Of Faith
